RAlLWAY ACCOMMODATIONS FOR EMPLOYEES
DEFINITIONS
In this Division:
"accommodations" means sleeping quarters, washrooms, toilets, recreation facilities, food preparation areas, laundries, storage areas and lockers provided by the railway for its employees or agents, in camps, motive power units, cabooses, passenger cars or rail diesel cars;
"adequate" means sufficient, satisfactory, proportionate;
"camp" means land or premises on which there are cabins, tents, dwellings, bunkhouses or other structures fixed or mobile, including those mounted on or a part of rolling stock, that are owned, established, operated or maintained for or by a railway for its agents, employees or others subject to the "Act" with or without charge;
"certified food handler" means a food handler who has successfully completed the "Food Safe Course established by the "Ministry of Health " ;
"common use" means the use of an article or thing by more than one person with or without it being thoroughly cleansed, laundered or sterilized after each use;
..communicable illness" means an illness, due to a specific infectious agent or its toxic products, which arises through the transmission of that agent or its product: (a) directly from an infected person or animal, or
(b) indirectly through the agency of an intermediate host vector or the inanimate environment;
" food preparation area" means an area where food is made ready for eating and includes an area used for the storage of food;
"health hazard" means a condition or circumstance that has or may have an adverse effect on the health of a person, includes a condition or circumstance that is unsanitary or which prevents or hinders the suppression of illness;
"privy" means a small building having a hole or holes through which human excrement may be evacuated into a waterproof vault or into an excavated pit;
"temporary worksite camp" means dwellings used as temporary quarters for employees; and
"vermin" means rats, mice, cockroaches, bedbugs, flies and any other noxious animal or insect
14.21.1 GENERAL
Application
14.21.1.1
This Division applies to bunkhouses, housekeeping suites, ground camps, outfit cars, on board accommodations and camps.

Compliance
14.21.1.2
Camps or accommodations must be operated or managed and no premise, building, structure, equipment, utensil or other thing used in or as a part of a camp or accommodation, except in accordance with this Part and other requirements of this Division.
Informing Employees
14.21.1.3
(1) Before commencing employment, the railway must accurately inform all employees about the camp and work conditions, special local hazards and personal equipment requirements and ensure that, prior to commencing work, employees are adequately equipped.
(2) The railway must instruct the employees in camp evacuation procedures, including the evacuation by aircraft (fixed or rotary winged), boat, rail, road, etc. as applicable.
(3) These camp procedures must be posted in a prominent position.
Note: The instructions to employees must address such natural hazards as aggressive wild life, avalanche and slide areas, and so on.
Employee Responsibilities
14.21.1.4
Every employee must:
(a) use the camp and its facilities in compliance with this Division;
(b) report to the camp supervisor, railway or the railway's agent, the absence or any equipment or thing, or any defect or procedure of which the employee is aware of and which may endanger the employee or another employee; and
(c) report to the camp supervisor, railway or the railway's agent, any contravention of this Division, or the existence of any uncontrolled or previously unidentified hazard of which the employee has knowledge.
Supervision and Maintenance of Camps and Accommodations
14.21.1.5
(1) Continuous supervision must be provided over each camp when it is occupied by working employees.
(2) If the camp is to be occupied by employees when there is no work activity, the railway must appoint an employee to be responsible for the camp's security and protection from both manmade and natural hazards .
(3) All sanitary facilities, appliances, equipment, and fittings must be maintained, clean and in good repair .
(4) Suitable and adequate receptacles must be provided to prevent the accumulation of garbage.
(5) Each garbage receptacle must be:
(a) equipped with a tight fitting cover;
(b) constructed so that it can be easily cleaned and maintained in a sanitary condition; and
(c) emptied at least once a day that it is used.
(6) A camp must not be littered with rubbish, garbage, refuse or waste.
(7) The camp supervisor must keep a current record of persons residing in the camp, and this record must include, but not be limited to:
(a) the name of each person;
(b) the date of each person's arrival in the camp; "
(c) the date of each person's departure from the camp for more than 24 hours; and
(d) identifying the sleeping accommodation of each person.
(8) A fire safety plan in accordance with The Fire Services Act must be posted in all common rooms .
(9) Instructions on the method of securing emergency assistance must be posted by the
communication equipment and in common rooms .
(10) Access to all areas of a railway camp or accommodations must be available at all times for inspection by a safety officer, when the camp or accommodations are occupied.
(11) The railway must ensure that any domestic animals permitted in the camp are properly controlled at all times and not permitted access to food storage, preparation or serving areas or waste disposal facilities.

(12) The railway must post a copy of any safety officer's notification report, in a conspicuous place, for 21 days from the date of issue of the report.
Closures of Camps and Accommodations
14.21.1.6
(1) A safety officer, may after making an inspection or examination, direct in writing the closure of part or all of a camp or accommodation, which he considers to be a safety or health hazard.
(2) The camp or accommodation must be closed in accordance with the terms of the order and kept closed until approval is given by the safety officer to reopen the camp or accommodation.
(3) No person may remove, alter or deface a directive that is posted under this Division.
Storage of Equipment
14.21.1.7
A person must not use accommodations .washrooms .toilets .laundries. food preparation or food serving areas for the purpose of storing equipment unless:
(a) a storage closet fitted with a door is provided in the facility .or
(b) the equipment is secured in a manner that protects the employee from injury and the equipment does not pose a health hazard.
Quality and Source
14.21.2.1
(1) An adequate supply of safe water must be provided at all times for drinking and domestic purposes
(2) Drinking water must comply with the current edition of "Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality, published under the authority of the Minister of National Health and Welfare" (Canada).
(3) A well must not be used as a source of water supply unless the well is so constructed and located the water obtained from it is free from contamination.
(4) Ice in contact with drinking water or food must be made from drinking water in compliance with subsection 14.21.2.1 (2) and stored and maintained in a sanitary condition.
(5) Where a water supply unfit for drinking purposes is used for fife suppression or industrial purposes, there must be no physical connection between that supply and any approved drinking water supply.
(6) Suitable warning signs must be posted at all outlets of non-drinkable water .
Water Storage
14.21.2.2
(1) All multiple use drinking water storage containers must be:
(a) securely cover and close;
(b) arranged so that water can be drawn only from a tap;
(c) maintained clean and free from contamination;
(d) used only for the purpose of storing drinking water; and
(e) not stored in a washroom or toilet area.
(2) If the containers are of a single use type, the containers must be sealed and stored in a clean area free from contamination.
Dispensing Drinking Water
14.21.2.3
(1) Except where drinking water is supplied by a drinking fountain or a single use portable storage container, sanitary single use drinking cups must be provided.
(2) Drinking water must not be dipped from open springs, wells or water containers or by any means that does not preclude the contamination of the water .
(3) Where drinking fountains are used, they must meet the standards set out in the A.I.R Standard 1010-82, "Standard for Drinking Fountains Self Contained, Mechanical Refrigerated Drinking Water Coolers".

14.21.3 CAMP LOCATIONS AND CONSTRUCTION
Sites
14.21.3.1
(1) Any area on which a tent, building or other structure is erected, or an area which is used for camp activities, must be well drained.
(2) The camp site must be chosen so that the drainage will not pollute or contaminate any water supply.
(3) When locating a camp, consideration of natural and manmade hazards must be taken into consideration, such as avalanches, rock and land slides, flooding, fires, snow fall, etc.
(4) Vehicle operators in the immediate area of the camp must restrict their speed 10 kmph.
Construction
14.21.3.2
(1) Cabins, dwellings, huts, bunkhouses, outfit cars or other structures used for living quarters must not be established or maintained unless:
(a) the fire protection and suppression equipment and systems conform to the B. C. Fire Code requirements ;
(b) all floors built on solid concrete or rodent proof foundation must have a clearance of at least 30 cm (12 inches) between the surface of the ground and the underside of the floor joists;
(c) it is wind and weather proof;
(d) the living quarters and sleeping quarters are provided with heating arrangements that will assure a temperature of at least 18° C (64.4° F) during the season in which the quarters is are occupied;
(e) stoves or heaters are safely installed and maintained according to applicable standards and/or manufacturer's instructions;
(f) the camp is illuminated in accordance with Division 6 of this Part;
(g) the floor in every room containing a toilet, and every bathroom and shower room, is fInished with a smooth, tight surface; and
(h) the floors and walls of all rooms used for living, sleeping or eating purposes are of smooth easily cleanable finish and kept clean.
(3) Emergency illumination must be provided in accordance with Division 6 of this Part.
(4) All camp facilities used for accommodation must have exit signs that are continuously illuminated or self illuminating while such facilities are occupied.
Ventilation
14.21.3.3
All rooms must be sufficiently well ventilated to prevent the accumulation of disagreeable odours and condensation.
Vermin
14.21.3.4
(1) Every camp building must be constructed and maintained to exclude vermin.
(2) When the presence of vermin is noticed in a camp or accommodations, adequate steps to exterminate the vermin and to keep the premises free of them must be taken.
Garbage Disposal
14.21.3.5
(1) Fly tight garbage containers in a convenient location must be provided at a camp or accommodations.
(2) Garbage containers must be maintained so that they do not become foul smelling, unsightly or a breeding place for flies.
(3) Garbage and refuse must be disposed of by burial, incineration or other acceptable methods.
(4) When bears are in the immediate vicinity of a camp, garbage must be disposed of each day

Sleeping Accommodation
14.21.3.6
(1) Where a room is used for sleeping accommodation, it must have:
(a) an unobstructed clearance of at least 0.6 m (2 feet) between beds;
(b) individual dry storage space for personal possessions and clothing for each employee using that room for sleeping accommodation; and
(c) a separate bed! not part of a system or arrangement of double deck or multiple tier bunks, provided for each employee.
(2) Rooms used for sleeping accommodation must not be used for drying clothes.
(3) All mattresses, sheets, pillow cases, blankets and bed covers must be kept in a clean and sanitary condition, and clean laundered sheets and pillow cases must be supplied once a week, and to each new occupant on arrival.
(4) Employees must not be permitted to use their own blankets, sheets or pillow cases without permission being granted by the railway.
(5) Suitcases and other articles must not be stored under beds or bunks unless the bed or bunk has built-in drawers.
Sleeping Accommodation Room Sizes
14.21.3.7
(1) Rooms must not be used for sleeping accommodations unless:
(a) each room, used as sleeping accommodation for 2 persons has net floor area of at least 9 square metres (96.9 square feet) and a cubic air space of at least 21.5 cubic metres (760 cubic feet) and, for each person more than 2, an additional net floor area of at least 5.5 square metres (59.2 square feet) and an additional air space of 13.5 cubic metres (476 cubic feet); and
(b) each room used as sleeping accommodation has for each person a net floor area of at least 4.5 square metres (48.4 square feet) and a cubic air space of at least 9.5 cubic metres (335 cubic feet).
Additional Requirements for Bunkhouses, Apartments, and Housekeeping Suites
14.21.3.8
(1) Each bunkhouse, apartment or housekeeping suite must have:
(a) a living room with a net floor area of at least 11 square metres (118.4 square feet), and
(b) a kitchen with a net floor area of at least 7 square metres (75 square feet).
Overcrowding
14.21.3.9
(1) Accommodations must not be overcrowded.
(2) For the purpose of subsection:
(1) accommodation is overcrowded at any time when the number of persons sleeping in that accommodation is such that:
(a) any 2 of these persons of the opposite sex are required to sleep in the same room; and
(b) the number is, in relationship to the number and floor area of the rooms, in excess of the permitted number in the following table:

(3) For each room in addition to 5, the number of additional persons permitted is 2.

14.21.4 TOILETS, WASHROOMS AND SANITATION
Provision or Washrooms on Cars and Motive Power Units
14.21.4.1
(1) Every railway must, if reasonably practicable, provide a washroom on cars and motive power units other than cars designed for the transportation of freight and maintenance-of-way equipment.
(2) If it is not practicable under subsection
(1) to provide a washroom on cars and motive power units, the railway must provide a washroom that is readily accessible and available to employees which is off the car or motive power unit.
Types of Toilets
14.21.4.2
(1) Subject to subsection 14.21.4.1(2). the toilet provided in a washroom must:
(a) in the case of a motive power unit. be of a self contained chemical flush type;
(b) in the case of a caboose. be of a type and construction that the waste is not deposited on the track bed or any part of the caboose, and
(c) in case of an outfit car camp, be of a flush type
Provision for Washrooms for Both Sexes
14.21.4.4
(1) Subject to subsection (2), if a washroom is provided under section 14.20.4.1 and employees of both sexes are employed at the same place of employment, a railway must provide a separate washroom for employees of each sex.
(2) The railway may provide only one washroom for employees of both sexes if the washroom is completely enclosed with solid material that is nontransparent from the outside.
(3) If separate washrooms are provided for employees of each sex, each washroom must be equipped with a door that is clearly marked to indicate the sex for whom the washroom is provided.
Provision of Washrooms for other Accommodations
14.21.4.5
(1) In every accommodation:
(a) the washrooms, with the exception of accommodations provided in outfit cars, must not be more than 30 metres from any sleeping area;
(b) the floors of the washroom must be of concrete, wood or other suitable material fInished with a smooth, tight surface;
(c) the washrooms shall be ventilated to the outside air;
(d) water flush toilets must not be installed in connection with a camp unless they are connected to a public sewerage system or to a properly designed and constructed septic tank and ground absorption system or discharged in accordance with a valid sewerage disposal permit issued by an officer of the British Columbia Ministry of Health;
(e) where water flush toilets are not used, the toilets must be so constructed and maintained so
/ that:
(1) flies, insects, rats or small domestic animals cannot gain access to waste materials;
(ii) surface or ground water cannot enter the pit or vault;
(iii) waste material cannot contaminate a water supply;
(iv) self-closing seat covers are in operation at all times;
(v) the enclosure is vented;
(vi) they are located at least 30 metres (98.4 feet) away from any lake, stream, or food preparation area;
(vii) they are enclosed and provide privacy;
(f) toilets, other than flush toilets must not be installed in accommodations containing sleeping, eating or living areas;

(g) no sanitary privy , chemical or frost proof toilet shall be installed within any building used for human occupancy, nor within 3 metres (9.8 feet) of any dwelling; and (h) common towels must not be used.
(2) Privy pits must be taken out of service before the waste reaches within 30 cm (1- foot) of the ground surface, and backfilled with clean soil.
(3) Pits no longer in u.se must be filled with soil and marked with a durable sign to warn persons of the "PRIVY PIT SITE" (date).
(4) The following table determines the number of toilets, showers and washbasins that are to be provided, whenever the camp is for the exclusive use of males, urinals may be substituted for half of the required number of toilets:

Separate Toilets and Washrooms
14.21.4.6
(1) Where more than one toilet, one w~h basin, or one bath tub or shower is installed in a single room, other than a private dwelling unit, the use of such room must be restricted to persons of the same sex. " .
(2) Where separate washrooms or bath rooms are provided for each sex, each washroom or bathroom, as the case may be, must:
(a) be closed by full size doors, and
(b) be clearly and properly marked.
Washroom Supplies
14.21.4.7
(1) Subject to subsection (2), every washroom must be provided with:
(a) toilet paper on a holder or in a dispenser, and
(b) hand cleaning and drying supplies.

(2) If washroom supplies are not provided as required by subsection (1), the railway must provide toilet paper and hand cleaning and drying supplies to each individual employee.
(3) A non-combustible container must be provided in or adjacent to every washroom for the disposal of hand cleaning and drying supplies.
(4) A covered container or an envelope that is impervious to moisture must be provided for the disposal of sanitary napkins in each washroom provided for the use of female employees.
Hot and Cold Running Water
14.21.4.8
Every washroom must, if reasonably practicable, be provided with hot and cold running water at each washbasin in the washroom.
Restrictions on Hot Water
14.21.4.9
If hot water is provided for personal washing, it must not:
(a) exceed a temperature of 430 (1100 F.) at the discharge point, and
(b) be heated by mixing water with steam
Washroom Cleaning Agents
14.21.4.10
Every washroom that contains a washbasin must be provided with soap or another cleaning agent in a dispenser at the washbasin.
14.21.5 BATHING AND LAUNDRY REQUIREMENTS
Application
14.21.5.1
A ground camp, outfit car camp and an engineman's bunkhouse must be provided with hot and cold water for bathing and laundering.
Showers
14.21.5.2
(1) The railway must provide enclosed showers that afford privacy which:
(a) provide on demand an adequate supply of hot and cold water under good pressure;
(b) are constructed with easily cleanable floors and walls, maintained in a clean and sanitary condition;
(c) have adequate drainage to prevent the pooling of waste water; and
(d) have an adequate dressing area with easily cleanable floors and walls maintained in a clean and sanitary condition that affords privacy separately to men and women.
(2) Towels, including roller towels, must not be made available for common use.
Waste Water
14.21.5.3
(1) When waste water is disposed of in a closed inf1ltration pit, the" delivery system must be of the closed type and the pit must be sealed to prevent access of flies and vermin.
(2) The disposal of waste water in open ditches is prohibited.
(3) lnfiltration pits must:
(a) be located at least 30 metres (98.4 feet) away from any lake or stream;
(b) not be permitted to overflow or accumulate onto the soil surface; and
(c) be covered to deter entrance of insects and vermin.
(4) The railway must not permit natural drainage to be polluted or contaminated by waste water , refuse or any other waste material generated by the camp.
Drying Room
14.21.5.4
(1) The employer must provide a heated room to be used exclusively to dry clothes.
(2) The drying room must be separate from food preparation, serving and dining areas.
(3) The drying room must be adequate for the changing of clothes and must be capable of drying clothes for all employees within 12 hours.

14.21.6 FOOD STORAGE, PRPARATION AND SERVING
Physical Requirements
14.21 6.1
A food preparation area (kitchen) when provided must:
(a) be separated from any other room, except in an outfit car where it may form part of the dinning area;
(b) be used solely for the preparation and storage of food;
(c) be constructed in a manner that deters the entry of insects and vermin;
(d) have smooth, durable, non-absorbent, easily cleanable walls, floors and food preparation surfaces; and
(e) have walls. floors and food preparation surfaces such as counters and tables in a clean and sanitary condition
Handwashing for Food Handlers
14.21.6.2
(1) Hand-basins with hot and cold running water (drinking water quality), soap and disposable towels must be provided in a location convenient to, or in, the kitchen area, and must be for the exclusive use of food handlers.
(2)The handwashing stations must be in numbers adequate to ensure availability to food handlers as required.
Cleaning of Utensils
14.21.6.3
(1) Equipment and facilities for the cleaning and disinfecting of utensils must consist of:
(a) an ample supply of hot and cold running water, of drinking water quality; and
(b) (i) mechanical equipment so designed and operated that all utensils are adequately cleansed and sanitized; or
(ii) manual equipment consisting of a 2 compartment sink of corrosion resistant material of sufficient size to ensure thorough cleansing and sanitizing of utensils and drain boards and racks of material that is non-corrodible, or
(iii) such other facilities as may be approved by a safety officer; and
(2) These sinks must not be used for any other purposes than cleaning and sanitizing utensils, (3) Utensils used for serving food must be rinsed or scraped to remove solid food particles
prior to washing; and
(a) be thoroughly washed with an effective cleansing agent in water of a temperature not less than 43°C. (110° F.);
(b) sanitized; or
(c) washed and sanitized by another method approved by a safety officer .
Dining Facilities
14.21.6.4
Dining facilities when provided must:
(a) be of sufficient size with tables and backed chairs, for the serving and consumption of meals:
(b) be dry and adequately heated when in use, and constructed so as to deter the entry of insects
and vermin; and
(c) if connected by one common rgof to the food preparation area, have smooth, durable, non- absorbent, easily cleanable floors.
Sanitary Conditions
14.21.6.5
All dining furniture and equipment used for dining purposes must be provided with surfaces of a smooth, durable, non-absorbent surface and kept in a clean and sanitized condition prior to each meal being served.
Food Handlers
14.21.6.6
(1) A persons who is a carrier of, or is suffering from a communicable intestinal disease must not handle, prepare or serve food.

(2) A person with a skin infection must not perform any work that brings the person in contact with food in a camp unless written medical opinion stating the condition is not infectious has been obtained before handling any food.
(3) Open wounds must be covered with an impervious cover
Personal Hygiene
14.21.6.7
Foods handlers must:
(a) wash their hands thoroughly and frequently before handling food;
(b) wear clean clothes, keep their hair in place and keep finger nails short and clean; and
(c) refrain from using tobacco products while performing food handler duties.
Certification
14.21.6.8
(1) All food handlers must have a valid food handler's certificate indicating they have completed a basic food handler's course recognized by the British Columbia Ministry of Health
(2) With the exception of outfit cars, only food handlers and their assistants are allowed in the kitchen.
(3) Any person washing dishes, utensils, etc. must be under the supervision of a certified food handler .
Milk
14.21.6.9
Milk or milk product below the standards required by the current edition of the Milk Industry Standards Regulation. must not be served to any person.
Food Source
14.21.6.10
(1) The railway must provide three wholesome meals daily of sufficient quality and variety for the employees.
(2) The railway must ensure that all food provided for employee consumption is obtained from a recognized commercial source.
(3) Cool dry storage areas of sufficient space to store all foods, off the floor, must be provided.
Protection Against Contamination
14.21.6.11
Any food or ingredient capable of supporting the growth of organisms likely to cause disease in humans must:
(a) not be exposed to contamination, and
(b) be stored at a temperature below 4° C. (49° F.) at all times.
Refrigeration
14.21.6.12
Refrigeration equipment must:
(a) be of a size capable of storing all foods requiring refrigeration;
(b) have a thermometer to monitor it's operating condition; and
(c) be capable of maintaining all food referred to in paragraph 14.20.6.11 (b) at a temperature of less than 4° C. (40° F.)
Walk-in Refrigerators
14.21.6.13
Wa1k-in refrigerators or any enclosed space which may have a temperature or lack of oxygen that may be injurious to life must have:
(a) a means to open the door from the inside, and
(b) an alarm system which is activated from inside the enclosure; or (c) a breakable panel giving access to a safe area.
Note: An alarm system alone is not acceptable unless there is another employee available at all times who is able to respond to an alarm.

Food Containers
14.21.6.14
Containers for food must:
(a) be used to protect food from water, insects, vermin and other sources of contamination;
(b) be of a design and material that is easily cleanable, durable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and
designed to close securely; and
(c) have the correct contents clearly identified on the lid and on the side of the container .
Food Service Equipment and Utensils
14.21.6.15
When not in use, utensils must be stored in cupboards or drawers and protected from insects, dirt and contamination.
14.21.7 ADDITIONAL REQUIRMNETS FOR OUTFIT CARS
Location of Washrooms
14.21.7.1
Washroom facilities must not be located more than 60 metres (200 feet) from any occupied sleeping accommodation.
Lighting
14.21.7.2
(1) Outfit cars must be illuminated in accordance with Division 6 of this Part.
(2) Emergency lighting must be provided in common rooms, hallways and exit ways in accordance with Division 6 of this Part. .
Camp Security
14.21.7.3
(1) Hand brakes must be applied on each outfit car, while the cars is used for accommodations
(2) Where outfit cars require levelling, once the car is levelled, the equipment used to level the cars must be removed and the stability of the car must be maintained by the use of adequately sized blocks
(3) Private locks must be used on track switches giving access to tracks where outfit cars are located
and occupied.
(4) Derails must be installed to protect the outfit cars from other rail traffic.
(5) No employee shall travel in outfit cars unless the cars are in compliance with Division 23 of
this Part.
Access to Camp
14.21.7.4
(1) Access to and from the camp must be such that the employee's safety is maintained.
(2) Outfit cars must be located so as to avoid the access and exits being placed adjacent to active tracks or where passing road traffic may be a hazard to/employees.

Walkways and platforms between cars must be at least the width of the car end doors.
Handrailings

Handrails or similar acceptable methods must be used to prevent falls from walkways or platforms between cars or car end doors, in accordance with Division 2 of this Part.

Handrailings or similar guard devices, must be constructed in accordance with Division 2 of this Part.

Installation of Utility Services Between Cars
14.21.7.8
(1) Power cables, hoses and pipes connecting cars must be installed in such a manner as to avoid being a tripping hazard or hindering ingress or egress from the cars.
(2) Electrical power supply to outfit cars must conform to the current edition of the Electrical Safety Act and regulations made under it.
(3) Electrical power supply conductors must be installed so that they will not be damaged by traffic moving in the area.
Camps in Electrified Territory

Camps in electrified territory must be grounded in accordance with "Rules for Protection Against Electrical Exposure Safety and Operations Grounding" paragraph 4.1.1 issued by BC Rail
Warning Signs
14.21.7.10
Illuminated warning signs, or self-illuminating signs must be placed at each exit door or car side doors where there is no end or side platforms, walkways or landings.
Electrical Generators
14.21.7.11
Camps powered by electrical generators, which may start automatically, must have warning signs posted in a conspicuous place near the each generator warning employees that the generator may start automatically without warning.
Access to Kitchens and Food Storage Areas
14.21.7.12
Employees not qualified as food handlers or not assisting the food handler, must avoid being in or passing through kitchens and food storage areas wherever or whenever possible.
